Illaroo South, Yuraygir National Park, is an open grassed area just behind the open beach and is perfect for both tent camping and trailers. Good facilities including a BBQ and picnic areas. Great for fishing, swimming, surfing and hiking, this is a very popular spot during peak periods. Not far from Illaroo North and access to Rocky Point camp ground can be made from here.

Cost: $11.50 per adult per night. $6 per child per night. Children under 5 years are free of charge. Park entry fees apply, $8 per vehicle per day.

Getting there: Off the Pacific Hwy, a short drive south of Grafton, turn left at Eight Mile Lane and follow it till it becomes Wolli Road. Continue about 30km. Turn left at Minnie Water Road. A secluded campsite set in an amazing Rainforest setting on the beautiful Booluomba Creek. The creek is cool and shallow, great for the kids or for just lounging around in, and the water is some of the clearest fresh water you'll ever come across. The tent only camp sites are well kept and shaded. If you love bush camping this is a site well worth visiting.
