Chifley Dam, Bathurst, is a basic camp area on the Northern side of the Dam. A cheap option if you plan to stay and play on the lake.

Chifley Dam, Bathurst, is a basic camp area on the Northern side of the Dam. You'll need to bring everything including gas cookers as open fires are not permitted. How ever BBQ and picnic facilities are available at the nearby day use areas.

There is a maximum of four camp sites which can be occupied at any point in time, only one camper van or caravan may occupy any site while multiple tents may occupy one site as long as the number of visitors per site is less than twelve.

Most water activities are permitted on the lake so you can fish, swim, sail, water ski or just enjoy the surrounding scenery.

If you like your water based activities this is a nice cheap option close to Bathurst.

Getting there: Take Vale Rd from Bathurst. Then Lagoon Rd out to the village of Lagoon. After Lagoon take Chifley Dam Rd out to the Dam. The campsite will be the open grassed area on the left as you enter the Dam gates.
