Saunders Beach Park rest area, Saunders Beach, is a small shady, beach front rest area north of Townsville. It has basic facilities including toilets, cold showers, non-potable water, bins, BBQ's and a playground. It is suitable for Van and Tent based camping. Close to Townsville and the High way, this area is popular with fisherman and the traveling public and can become busy very quickly. The site is FREE but not pet friendly.

Getting there: From the Bruce Hwy about 27km north of Townsville, take Saunders Beach Rd 7km out to Reef St. Take a left onto Reef St and follow a short distance out to rest area.
