Dalmorton, Guy Fawkes River Conservation Area, is across from the site of the old pioneer town of Dalmorton...or what's left of it.
The camp site itself is set above the river and has shaded spots for small groups and a large open grassed area with fire pits for larger groups. Wedged in the valley between two national parks makes for a beautiful and peaceful spot to set up camp. The river is pleasant for a dip with local turtles, however fishing is currently prohibited due to the river being a conservation area for the endanger Eastern Cod.
It's quite the trek out to Dalmorton down the old unsealed road, especially if you're coming from Glen Innes. As a point of interest for the history buffs, an amazing convict built tunnel lies on the old road several Kms up from the campsite. Well worth a look.
