The Diggings, Crediton State Forest, Mackay Hinterland is a grassy clearing shaded by tall trees near a calm section of Broken River and provides plenty of natural offerings. A great spot for the 4WD or horse riding enthusiast. Or if you just wanna chill and nature watch this campground is not far from Eungella, yet you'll feel a million miles away. Getting there: Take the Mackay-Eungella Rd 81km west from Mackay up to Eungella. 1.5 km south from Eungella township,turn right onto Diggings Road. The Diggings is a further 6 km. The the site is only accessible by 4WD. Very steep climb up the escarpment to Eungella.
