Amamoor Creek, Amamoor State Forest, is a open grassed camping area in tall open forest featuring iron bark and blue gum. Walkers can explore the park on several walking tracks and forest roads provide opportunities for horse riders and mountain bike riders. Permits are not required for these activities unless it is a commercial venture. For the most part this site is nice and peaceful, however, if you are looking for a quite escape, avoid visiting the park in the week leading up to and during the annual Gympie Music Muster event 22 - 25 August. The popular music event transforms the area around the Amamoor Creek camping area and attracts thousands of campers and visitors to the park.
